"Oh the weather outside is frightful...", was definitely not the case for us this Christmas holiday! We were fortunate, being away from our immediate family members, to celebrate the holiday with various groups of people and their families. The SDA Clinic held their annual Christmas banquet at the Hilton hotel, Ken and his pharmacy staff held a departmental staff party at a restaurant, our friends the Forshee family held a feast of a Christmas dinner party at their place, and the Korean church invited us to their celebration at the Pastor's house for yummy homemade Korean food. Christmas Eve was spent at Lola Oni and Grandpa Eli's house along with the Mercado and Ordelheide families, and our new friend, Jesse Roa (Jelene's uncle). Christmas morning we joined the Mercado family and had a little celebration of our own at Gab Gab beach on base. Ken and Mike did a bit of snorkeling, while Gemma and I watched the kids and entertained them. Midday, we had Christmas lunch at Phyllis Collins' and Janet Nightingale's house, and dinner later that evening with the Mercado family at a Japanese restaurant called Ebisu. This was our first Christmas together with baby Jasmine, and it was special. We have been undoubtedly blessed with friends and family here on Guam, despite the distance from our immediate families. Below is a video of Ken and Mike enjoying nature's beauty. Jesus is the reason we celebrate the season!
