Presently, the SDA Clinic here on Guam is preparing for their 50th Anniversary. It has been a year long celebration and the final events for the celebration kick started over this past weekend. We took part in their 4th annual 5K marathon which took place Sunday morning at 5 a.m. with registration and a warm-up, the actual race at 6 a.m. There were approximately 800 participants. Ken sprinted through it in half an hour. Considering my pregnant state, it took me a little while longer to finish the course at a medium paced walk - 1 h 2 min. The walk was more enjoyable when walking with friend and doc, Gemma Mercado. After the marathon, Ken helped out with putting up the main tent for which the celebration services will be held over the next weekend. Boy, was he sore the following morning! Fortunately, the tent was set up on the clinic grounds, which is only 20 feet away from the house where we live.
In other news, the baby and I are doing well. She's been kicking alot more, especially at night and after meals. 10 more weeks to go! We're so excited. We've been steadily preparing and furnishing the nursery. Over the past week, we purchased a rocking chair and crib. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new family member. Hence, the name of our blog site.
More to come...
