“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,”- Titus 2:11-12 Lilypie Kids birthday Ticker Lilypie Kids birthday Ticker

Routine

Jasmine will be 7 months old this Sabbath. She is such a delight to have around the house, and she makes our family more complete. Being first time parents has definitely been a challenge trying to figure out how to do things when it came to baby stuff, but instinctively we have been able to manage. One book in particular that I would highly recommend for first time parents (besides the "What to Expect the First Year") is "Baby 411" by Dr. Ari Brown and Denise Fields. This book has given advice and answered some of my questions ahead of time before bombarding Jasmine's pediatrician. You can find the latest 3rd edition at your local Babies 'R Us, which retails at $12.95 USD. If you're from Guam, it will soon be sold at the SDA Clinic's Pharmacy.
Jasmine has been on a good routine these past weeks, which has definitely given us more time for SLEEP! This is a general idea of Jasmine's daily routine, some days varying.

0730
Wake time (sometimes 1/2 hr earlier)
Diaper change and feeding
Playtime with Daddy before he heads off to work
0930-1030
More playtime after Daddy leaves on the floor gym, or playpen, or swing, or walker, with books and toys (the distraction of that lasts so long until she wants more of Mommy's attention)
Out with Mommy some mornings to run errands
1100-
Feeding
Naptime (which can last sometimes 2 or even 3 hours long)
After her nap we take an afternoon stroll, pay Daddy a visit, and bring him his lunch at the Pharmacy
Diaper change
Out with Mommy some afternoons to run errands
1630-
Diaper change and feeding
Naptime (which lasts 1 hour or less sometimes)
1800-

Baby go nite nite!

What's so great is that when we put her in her crib, turn on her night light and close the door she will eventually fall asleep on her own, knowing it's time for nite nite, with a few whimpers, until she settles in. She can sleep for 10-12 hours straight some nights, which helps us get enough shut eye as well. What a bit of luxury!
